What to Expect on the Day

If you have never stepped onto a bowling green before, don’t worry! Our Open Day is designed entirely around newcomers. There is no pressure, no formal dress code (just wear a pair of flat-soled shoes or trainers), and absolutely no experience required. We will provide all the equipment you need.

Here is what we have lined up for you:

  • Free Coaching & Taster Sessions: Our experienced club coaches and members will be on hand all day. They will walk you through the basics, explain how the bias on the ball creates that famous curved trajectory, and get you rolling your very first ends in no time.

  • Fun Challenges: Test your accuracy with some lighthearted target games. You might just find you are a natural!

  • Meet the Members: Chat with our current players about what makes our club such a special place to be. Discover the social side of bowls, from casual club nights to internal competitions.

  • Refreshments: Grab a drink, enjoy a bite to eat, and soak up the atmosphere by the green.
